My Run-In With MAGA

My interaction with MAGA has me re-evaluating how I can co-exist with them going forward

So, I had a recent encounter with someone firmly ensconced in the MAGA cult.

Being in an anti-Trump bubble disadvantaged me

For those who live in predominantly MAGA areas and are used to sharing space with those in that cult, it may be easy to dismiss my angst because, for nearly a decade, they may have simply learned to coexist with those people. However, that is not the case with me.

I haven’t had to learn to co-exist with those people because I live in a blue city. That is not to say that there aren’t any MAGA in my city. There certainly are. However, I’ve lived in a bubble where no one within my circle of friends is a Trump supporter. Also, no one in my immediate family supports Trump. Most people in my extended family don’t support him either. I haven’t been forced to breathe the same air as those people for any extended period and preferred it that way.

I did inadvertently go on a date six years ago with a man who confessed to being a Trump supporter. However, as that was a non-starter with me, I ended the date within minutes of his confession.
